Welcome Letter

Esteemed advisors and honourable participants,

         It is with great pleasure that I welcome you, on behalf of our organizing team and our esteemed advisor, to the 21st session of Model United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (MUNESCO). This year our Thimun Affiliated conference is due to take place between the 27th of March to the 29th of March 2026, in Bilkent Laboratory and International School (BLIS), Ankara.

As one of the most distinguished conferences in Türkiye, I am honored to highlight that this year marks the 20th anniversary of our THIMUN affiliation. As the only THIMUN-affiliated conference in Ankara, we take great pride in continuing to welcome participants from across the country.

          Since its inception, MUNESCO has worked deliberately to address world issues and provide an enriching and inclusive environment for all of its attendants. Our primary goal is to support every one of our participants in their journey of becoming tomorrow’s open-minded citizens, world leaders and diplomats, all while developing essential interpersonal and diplomatic skills.

          This year’s theme is “Accountability in a Changing World.” As global challenges evolve, new questions and problems continue to emerge. The agenda items and debates at this year’s conference will focus on a range of issues connected to this central theme. Delegates will work together to analyze these problems and develop effective, well-reasoned solutions.

          Once again, we look forward to welcoming a diverse and passionate group of ambassadors, delegates, student officers, judges, advocates and their advisors, and anticipate your participation with great enthusiasm this March for an unforgettable MUNESCO experience.
